Job: [Medical Lab Scientist
Duration –Contract is expected to be 12 months long with an extension every 3 months.
Location: Baltimore MD
Shifts: Shifts for both openings:
Night shift- 11:15 7:15 AM Sun-Thursday rotating weekends and holidays.
Day shift- 11 AM- 3:30 PM rotating weekends and holidays
ASCP or AMT certified
Note:
- Generalist Med tech- coag, hem, ua, CHEMISTRY ETC.
- NIGHT SHIFT PERSON WILL NEED TO DO GRAM STAINS [LIMITED MICRO- SOME EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED BUT WE CAN TRAIN.]
- COLOR VISION SCREEN AND TB SCREEN REQUIRED
- VACCINES REQUIRED: FLU - DECLINATION ACCEPTED FOR MEDICAL OR RELIGIOUS REASONS.

U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, or individuals with an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) are eligible to apply for this position
Summary: The main function of an associate medical technician is to perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. A typical associate medical technician may work under the supervision of a medical technologist.
Job Responsibilities:
1 – Is this for and Medical Lab Technician [2 year MLT degree ] or Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist [4 year BS] or are you open to either? Looking for MT/MLS/CLS 4 year BS candidates but open to 2 year MLT degree with the right experience.
2- Please confirm if ASCP or AMT certification is required. [If required, are you open to eligible /registered candidates?] ASCP or AMT certification is required due to hospital setting- pending to confirm if open to eligible candidates.
3- Are you seeking a generalist [proficient in testing in all Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation] or are you seeking a Micro Lab worker with Molecular background? Generalist- coag, hem, ua, chemistry etc
4- What department will this technical position support? [Micro lab, Core lab, DNA sequence, etc.] Core Lab
5- Is Blood Bank experience required for this role? NO
6- Please confirm if color vision screening is required? YES
Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree in medical technology or
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Science required
