As an Independent Contractor in medical billing, you will leverage your expertise in Oral Surgery, Orofacial Pain, Dental Sleep, and Medicare billing. Operating with proficiency in medical billing software, you will manage claim submission, insurance payment posting, contractual adjustments, and appeals from your own IT-compliant computer. We seek self-motivated individuals with exceptional time management skills to support clients in collecting owed amounts and diligently following up on outstanding medical claims.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of medical insurance billing experience, specifically in dental and medical billing
Proficiency with AdvancedMD software and deep knowledge of medical billing practices
Highly organized with a keen attention to detail for effective claim tracking and resolution of issues
Responsibilities
Submit clean claims electronically or via 1500 form, ensuring appropriate modifiers
Verify insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with provider contracts and patient benefits
Initiate collection actions, including direct communication with insurance companies
Utilize A/R reporting to review and appeal unpaid or denied claims
Review and validate Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to resolve discrepancies

Requirements
2+ years of dedicated billing experience with either Health Fusion or AdvancedMD
Own a reliable computer, printer, and high-speed internet connection
Proficiency in EOB interpretation, payment posting, and adjustments
Self-directed with strong goal-setting and independent work skills
Highly disciplined with a meticulous approach to reviewing account ledgers and payments
