We are seeking a dedicated Medical Biller with strong technology skills and extensive knowledge of billing and insurance authorizations. The ideal candidate will excel in providing high-quality and efficient medical billing functions. You should be comfortable working independently within a team-oriented environment. As a Billing Specialist, you will handle aged accounts, address rejections, and submit primary and secondary claims to all insurance companies both electronically and by paper. Success in this role also requires an openness to understand and explore issues related to bias and equity, approaching these challenges with curiosity and empathy.
Work Environment
This position offers the flexibility to work primarily from home, with occasional requirements to be present in the office. Office space is available for those who prefer to work in person.
Key Responsibilities
Perform medical billing functions with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Work on aged accounts and rejections.
Submit primary and secondary claims to all insurance companies electronically and by paper.
Embrace and explore issues related to bias and equity with understanding and curiosity.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of recent and progressive medical billing experience.
Ability to travel to the Grand Rapids office occasionally.
Experience in the mental health or substance abuse field is strongly preferred.
Prior experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.
