The Opportunity
The Medical Assistant, Care Coordination works to ensure the highest quality virtual care experience for our patients. This role will support the nurse in gathering records and patient information from interdisciplinary Care Teams, which may include internal and external health care providers, such as Patient Navigators, Care Coordinators, Case Managers, Primary Care Physicians/Specialty Physicians and Hospital Systems. In conjunction with other clinicians, the Medical Assistant contributes to products and services that relate to the delivery of high-quality cost effective virtual care to Teladoc Health patients.
Responsibilities
Administrative Duties include:
Review intake records for completeness
Triage and prioritize case volumes
Research, gather medical records from facilities and transfer information to electronic health record (EHR)
Ensure that patient’s EHR is up to date with information on specialist consults, hospitalizations and/or procedures related to their health
Schedule appointments
Communicate with patient and other health care team members to ensure delivery of high-value care
Other duties as assigned
Clinical Duties include:
Identify preventative measures and utilize community resources to execute high value care
Take patient’s full history including medications and document biometric screenings
Working on Referrals, Prior Authorization, and Medical orders
Support the nursing and referral team with care management needs
Help patients by providing information, services and assistance
Other duties as assigned
Candidate Profile
Active Medical Assistant Certification required
High school diploma required, 2+ years of college preferred
2+ years Medical Assistant Experience
Customer service experience required
LPN/LVN, nursing student training helpful
EHR experience preferred
Video conferencing experience preferred
Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft software
Strong time management skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team
Ability to thrive in fast-paced work environment in a growing company
The base salary range for this position is $21/hr - $24/hr. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
