Medical Assistant (Gap year Opportunity for Pre-PA/Pre-Med Students)

We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Medical Assistants on a 1-year gap year opportunity, ideal for Pre-PA or Pre-Med students looking to gain valuable experience in the medical field before pursuing further education.

As a Medical Assistant with Water's Edge Dermatology , you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced medical professionals, gaining hands-on experience in various clinical settings.

Responsibilities Include

• Assisting dermatologists with patient examinations, biopsies, and surgical procedures.
• Providing patient education on skincare routines, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
• Assisting in performing dermatologic procedures such as wound care, suture removal, etc.
• Documenting patient medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans accurately.
• Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness before each appointment and stocked with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Accurately complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required
• Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory
• Travel required to other locations throughout the week as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s degree
• Students i nterest ed in pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Pre-Med
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or dermatology setting is preferred but not required .
