Education: High school graduate or equivalent educational experience, with ability to read, write and comprehend English. Competency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of the New York State Medicaid program for long-term care.
Demonstrates knowledge, skill and proficiency in the New York State Medicaid program.
Provides assistance to residents and families in understanding Medicaid requirements.
Meets with residents and families to answer questions, gather documents and complete the Medicaid application.
Working with the Dept of Social Services, banks, insurance companies and pension companies to request necessary documents to determine resident’s eligibility for Medicaid assistance.
Initiates the Rep Payee application form.
Meets routinely with representatives of medical records, admissions, and social work to track the financial status of new and existing residents.
