Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as Media Relations Manager at Hampton University. The Media Relations Manager will be responsible for telling the story of the people and programs at Hampton University on the world stage. S/he will be adept at researching and writing press releases, developing and maintaining media contacts, curating the online Newsroom, facilitating media training workshops, coordinating media interviews and tracking placements and metrics.

Qualifications

5 years of experience

• in press releases, media relations, and strategic communications
• Strong knowledge of higher education issues and proven storytelling capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
• Experience in higher education or a similar industry is a plus
