LHH is ramping up a search for a Mechatronics Engineer in the Metro Detroit area. The ideal candidate will blend expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control engineering to design, develop, test, and maintain automated equipment and systems. Mechatronics Engineers play a crucial role in our organization, contributing to innovation and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing and developing mechatronic systems and products, integrating mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control systems elements.
Creating detailed designs, schematics, and simulations using CAD software and other tools.
Selecting and specifying components, such as motors, sensors, actuators, and materials.
Programming and configuring PLCs, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
Conducting feasibility studies and testing prototypes to evaluate function, performance, and reliability.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and technicians.
Troubleshooting issues with existing mechatronic systems and recommending improvements or modifications.
Documenting designs, test procedures, and results to comply with regulatory standards and company guidelines.
Staying current with advancements in mechatronics technology and incorporating innovative solutions into designs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
Proven experience (3+ years) in mechatronics system design and development.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
Hands-on experience with PLC programming, motion control systems, and robotic systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechatronics.
