Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Mechanical Engineering Team Manager to lead the talented group of mechanical engineers. The successful candidate will drive design consistency across the region, improve cost competitiveness, enhance BOM health, and optimize the manufacturability and field serviceability. This role is pivotal in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, ensuring engineering execution meets the highest standards of detailed design and bill of material.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance coaching. Ensure detailed design and BOM accuracy.
  • Design Standardization: Develop globally standardized design frameworks adaptable to regional requirements.
  • Process Optimization: Enhance design workflows through improved processes and tools. Manage recruiting, onboarding, and development of engineering personnel to boost individual capabilities, productivity, and performance.
  • Change Implementation: Lead the implementation of engineering change requests through collaborative, stakeholder-driven processes.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Facilitate communication and problem-solving across customer support, engineering, and service operations to resolve complex issues.
  • Shared Design Language: Foster a shared design language for core product platforms while allowing teams to tailor features and functionality to regional needs.
  • Production Collaboration: Work closely with the Production and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team to ensure successful manufacturing of product design transfers and ETO-C projects. Support production and manufacturing teams for first-of-a-kind dry runs.
  • Cross-Plant Coordination: Coordinate cross-plant problem-solving teams to improve engineering performance and meet business objectives.
  • Workflow Streamlining: Align standard work documentation with global standards, audit adherence to processes, and track progress towards key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years in a similar role. Experience in power distribution products is a plus.
  • Managerial Skills: Proven ability to plan, measure, and motivate teams to continuously improve output and personal growth.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build diverse relationships internally and externally.
