Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area is searching for a Mechanical Engineering Intern. With a 50+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, BAE systems.
SCOPE
The positon requires education in Mechanical Engineering with related project or work experience. The candidate will assist experienced engineers in the development, design, and testing of mechanical systems, products, and components. A major emphasis will be on mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities include:
Assist with the design and development of mechanical systems, products, and components
Participate in the testing and evaluation of prototypes and products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering solutions
Utilize engineering software and tools to support design and development activities
Document design concepts and specifications for review and feedback
Participate in meetings and present findings to team members and management
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills / Requirements
Must be enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering program, Junior-Senior status.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Proficient in 3D CAD software, such as CREO or SolidWorks
Experience with prototyping and testing preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good techical ability through related coursework and/or work experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Must be able to write engineering reports.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship
