You will be responsible for designing mechanical HVAC systems for both new and existing buildings, with the opportunity to oversee project management.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing mechanical HVAC systems for both new and existing buildings, incorporating renewable and sustainable technologies to offer optimal value for building owners. Your tasks will include preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications, conducting condition assessments, assisting with construction cost estimates, and generating punch lists. Additionally, you will review shop drawings, address requests for information (RFIs), and play a role in project management.
In the project management aspect, you will contribute to developing work plans and conceptual designs, oversee the budget, schedule, and scope, and ensure adherence to Primera's quality improvement and review processes.

Qualifications:
Your qualifications and experience are noteworthy, showcasing your established presence in the field with a substantial 5 to 8 years of mechanical experience. Possessing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering is a key aspect, with a mandatory requirement of holding an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, while a Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
Your expertise extends to building knowledge, encompassing familiarity with ASHRAE standards and building codes related to ventilation, humidity control, load calculations, and duct sizing techniques. Additionally, you have a comprehensive understanding of key performance parameters for air handlers, pumps, chillers, temperature controls, ductwork accessories, heat exchangers and tanks, as well as sustainable design. Your knowledge also extends to key architectural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection considerations within the realm of mechanical systems.
Proficiency in relevant business and engineering applications is a hallmark of your skills. You demonstrate adeptness with Microsoft Office and Project, possess a working knowledge of CAD methods and procedures, and are at ease with HVAC calculation software tools.
