Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, communication skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Generate and run thermal fluids models and predict component temperatures and heat transfer to working fluids
The Mechanical Engineer provides guidance on optimizing design for thermal effects and heat transfer.
Evaluate bounding thermal conditions against material and design capabilities
Optimizing fluid system valves for mass, leakage, reliability
Support the complete life cycle of the valves from the definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation
Work closely with designers to improve designs to deliver better than current state-of-the-art performance
Required Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
8+ years of experience in thermal fluids analysis and mechanical component design
Proficient in the use of thermal analysis tools (Thermal Desktop and ANSYS preferred)
Experience with first-order hand and excel level calculations for thermal analysis
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualification:
Advanced Engineering degree
Fluids fundamentals
Experience analyzing cryogenic, two-phase liquid systems
Direct experience providing feedback for design iteration and optimization
Demonstrated process automation experience using scripting (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.)
