Dolby’s consumer entertainment and cinema businesses are bringing Dolby’s breakthrough technologies, powering the world’s top movies, TV shows, music, games, and live sports to more places around the world across a wider range of consumer experiences and devices. In your capacity as a team member, your responsibilities will center around the design and prototyping of hardware to propel Dolby technologies into the next era. You’ll be tasked with crafting proof-of-concept designs and hardware products that cater to a wide range of business requirements, including solutions for living spaces, vehicles, and personal computers. Your role will involve working in tandem with seasoned professionals from various fields such as electrical, acoustic, mechanical, and software engineering to create everything from individual components to comprehensive system-level hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop system level hardware solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis related to mechanical systems.
- Design and develop mechanisms, parts, and assemblies in 3D CAD.
- Prototype physical hardware solutions.
- Work within a Scrum team of developers and engineers.
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering role
- Demonstrable proficiency in CAD
- Experience with FEA (finite element analysis) for developing mechanical solutions.
- Hands on experience prototyping parts with 3d printing and machine shop tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to achieve results, meet deadlines, and adjust to quickly changing priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
