The role involves applying engineering principles for product design, development, and support, particularly in the context of motor design and layout. Key responsibilities include:
Design and Development: Perform product design and layout, provide engineering support for new and existing products, and create development/test plans.
Technical Support: Conduct root cause investigations, failure analysis, and identify solutions for customer issues.
Collaboration and Leadership: Work as part of a design team or independently, potentially lead multidisciplinary product development teams, and communicate with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure designs meet standards and policies, review and process engineering change orders, and maintain specification databases.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with new developments in design engineering and support the shop floor during assembly.
Qualifications:
Education: B.S. Degree in engineering or an A.S. Technical degree with five years of design engineering experience.
Experience: Preferred motor design experience, hands-on mechanical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and develop solutions.
Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, ability to conduct motor performance tests, and strong communication and ethical standards.
