JOB SUMMARY FOR MECHANICAL DRAFTER:

• Hiring a Mechanical Drafter for a leading engineer in Rapid City, SD
• $15-17/hour with a compensation increase after 6 months
• Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm (30 min lunch)

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MECHANICAL DRAFTER:

• Create and/or modify 3D models and engineering drawings in conformance to Caterpillar engineering standards and specifications for use inmanufacturing.
• Ensure engineering change documentation conforms to Caterpillar engineering standards and specifications.
• Assist engineers in troubleshooting designs
• Interface with engineers and peers as necessary to ensure all facets of project’s scope are met.
• Complete projects in a timely manner to meet customer due dates.
• Communicate with Team lead daily on project status, delays and issues encountered.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR MECHANICAL DRAFTER:

• 2 year technical school degree in computer aided drafting program or other related manufacturing discipline (i.e. machining, welding, etc), or 2+ years equivalent experience.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR MECHANICAL DRAFTER:

• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
• Intermediate level experience with parametric 3d modeling and drafting softwares (i.e. Autodesk Inventor, Solidwork, Creo).
