We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in machine design to join our dynamic team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in cutting-edge laser systems. This role involves applying engineering principles to design innovative products, ensuring they meet high-performance standards, and contributing to the advancement of laser technology.


What you'll do:


  • Design and development of laser systems and mechanical components for laser systems including assemblies, instruments, controls, robotics, and other machinery and components.
  • Complete 3D CAD models from individual parts, top-level assemblies, and complete machine designs.
  • Testing and optimization of systems thorough modeling and analysis of mechanical designs to ensure functionality, durability, and performance to meet or exceed specified requirements.
  • Provide drawings for manufacturing and assembly departments.
  • Fabrication and Prototyping through collaboration with cross-functional teams during system development. Oversee the fabrication and prototyping of mechanical components. Provide guidance to ensure precision and adherence to design specifications.
  • Support the installation and application of mechanical products in laser systems.
  • Work with field teams to troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the longevity and performance of existing systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to solve complex engineering problems, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Exhibit a wide degree of creativity and latitude in approaching design challenges.


What you'll bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Min 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering using SolidWorks
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and organization skills.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks and adapt quickly to evolving project requirements and technologies.
