Job Summary

The MBA Program Director & Assistant Professor of Business is a dynamic and multifaceted role that involves both administrative leadership and academic teaching responsibilities. The individual in this role will be responsible for overseeing and managing Harris-Stowe State University’s MBA program, providing strategic direction, fostering academic excellence, and delivering impactful instruction to business students. This position requires a strong blend of leadership, organizational skills, and academic expertise.

Principal Responsibilities

MBA Program Director

Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute a strategic vision for the MBA program, aligning with the institution's goals and industry trends.

Program Managemen t: Oversee all aspects of the MBA program, including curriculum development, admissions, student support services, faculty recruitment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Curriculum Development : Contribute to the development and refinement of business-related courses, ensuring they are up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with program objectives.

Curriculum Enhancement : Collaborate with faculty to ensure the MBA curriculum remains relevant, innovative, and aligned with evolving business practices and trends.

Accreditation and Compliance : Ensure the MBA program maintains necessary accreditations and complies with relevant educational standards and regulations.

Student Experience : Enhance the overall student experience by promoting engagement, career development opportunities, and networking activities.

Industry Engagement : Foster relationships with industry partners, alumni, and business leaders to enhance internship opportunities, guest lectures, and real-world experiential learning.

Assistant Professor

Teaching Excellence : Design and deliver high-quality, engaging, and effective courses in business-related subjects, incorporating a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Student Mentorship : Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and support to students, facilitating their personal and professional growth.

Research and Scholarship : Engage in scholarly research activities, producing publications, presentations, and contributions to the field of business.

Professional Development : Stay current with industry trends, pedagogical advancements, and research methodologies to enhance teaching and program quality.

Committee Involvement : Participate in academic committees, faculty meetings, and other institutional activities to contribute to the overall academic environment.

Qualifications

MBA Program Director & Assistant Professor

Education : A doctoral degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred. A Master's degree with substantial experience and a proven track record may also be considered.

Teaching Experience : Prior experience in teaching at the university level, with a strong commitment to student-centered learning and innovative teaching methods.

Industry Experience : Significant professional experience in the business sector, preferably in leadership or managerial roles, to bring real-world insights to the classroom.

L eadership Skills : Proven ability to lead and manage academic programs, faculty, and staff with a collaborative and inclusive approach.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.

Research : Demonstrated capacity for scholarly research, including publications, presentations, or contributions to the field.

Technology Proficiency : Comfort with using educational technologies and digital tools to enhance the learning experience.

Networking : Established network in the business community, which can be leveraged for partnerships, industry insights, and experiential opportunities.
