We seek a dedicated Math Tutor to provide personalized academic support to undergraduate students. This role involves tutoring in financial literacy, algebra, statistics, pre-calculus, calculus, and discrete math, primarily through in-person sessions. The tutor's schedule will be flexible, with a minimum requirement of 10 tutoring hours per week during the academic term.
Responsibilities And Duties
Tutor students in core mathematical concepts and applications.
Assist students with understanding classroom topics, assignments, homework, projects, test preparation, papers, and research.
Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to enhance student learning outcomes.
Demonstrate effective academic strategies tailored to individual student needs.
Required Education And Experience
Master's Degree or higher in mathematics or math education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students and colleagues.
Experience in post-secondary education, particularly with students with disabilities, is advantageous.
Key Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer programs.
Familiarity with tutoring strategies for neurodiverse students.
Ability to utilize college-endorsed software for scheduling and record-keeping.
This position requires in-person availability with potential for evening and remote sessions after an initial successful in-person trial period.
