Client Overview

Our client is a globally recognized leader in the manufacturing of specialty chemicals renowned for their strong focus on innovation and sustainability. They are currently looking to hire a Materials Research Engineer.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$22/hr – $30/hr (Based on experience)

Position Overview

The Materials Research Engineer will support research and development efforts in the battery lab. The Materials Research Engineer role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a background in material science engineering to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities Of The Materials Research Engineer

  • Uphold high safety standards within the group and maintain the laboratory area in a safe and organized manner.
  • Conduct laboratory-scale operations to produce cathode slurry using various process equipment.
  • Utilize viscometers, particle size analyzers, rheometers, and other instruments to characterize the physical properties of novel materials in the labs.
  • Accurately manage test results and technical information, interpret data, provide recommendations, and maintain detailed electronic laboratory notebook records.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to ensure analytical and bench testing meet established standards and timelines.
  • Set up new laboratory apparatus and assist in scaling up newly developed products for pilot plant production.
  • Support quality control efforts and assist with equipment maintenance in the laboratory.

Qualifications For The Materials Research Engineer

  • 2 – 3 years minimum of hands-on lab/pilot plant experience in chemicals/petrochemicals-related industry.
  • Ability to design, recommend, and execute experimental programs with guidance from supervisor.
  • Ability to work autonomously, effective time-management skills, work with accuracy, attention to detail, and drive to deliver against project objectives and timeline

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Material Science Engineering or a related discipline is required.
