About the job:

Kent is looking for a Materials and Corrosion Engineer to be based in Houston, TX.

You will be part of our Kent Houston Offshore Engineering Team (KHOE) and involved in supporting existing oil and gas facilities and major oil and gas projects.

Previous Oil & Gas major project experience is required. Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a lead role in the technical development and review of discipline-specific deliverables, including:
    • Corrosion studies;
    • Review and develop philosophies and specifications;
    • Review engineering deliverables against specifications and regulatory requirements;
    • Manage deviation and concession requests;
    • Project QA/QC activities.
  • Lead and perform investigative studies and engineering scopes.
  • Work directly with client operating company personnel.
  • Uphold professional ethics and standards of conduct.
  • Work involves directing research and solving unprecedented technical problems of considerable scope and complexity, the solution of which may have a far-reaching impact on extensive technical activities of the firm.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of corrosion/materials experience with Oil & Gas projects.
  • Oil & Gas major project experience (onshore/offshore) is required.
  • Professional certification/registration is preferred.

Communication:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Behavior/ Core Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with multi-discipline team and managers.
  • Strong persuasive ability, technical writing and communications skills are required at this level, proven through such technical presentations, technical papers and/or participation in technical committees that will demonstrate an advanced state-of-the-art technical expertise.
