Job Title: Material Handler Department: 11 Forest Parkway– Lex East
Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that each production line gets the material as per Job Order Bill of Material and is also responsible for informing their supervisor and the Kit Inspector of incomplete kits or missing materials. The Material Handler will support all production lines when there are BoM errors, parts damaged in production, or missing from production kits. The Material Handler also works with the warehouse coordinator and materials manager to ensure inventory quantities are accurate, perform cycle counts, and that needed materials are on hand for work to be completed efficiently and safely.
In this position you will:
Work with site supervisors to ensure that the correct product is in place for production schedules.
Gather materials for upcoming & scheduled jobs (kitting)
Interact with the Kit Inspector, area supervisors, and line assemblers on any issues that may arise.
Work with and monitor incoming parts / kits count process. Ensure that incoming kit inventory is maintained at an accuracy of 100% absolute variance through cycle count, and work with Kit Inspector and area supervisors in case of discrepancy.
Assist in packaging materials and shipping if needed.
Work with the Kit Inspector and warehouse supervisors to ensure assignments are scheduled and carried out, processes are followed, and safety procedures are in place.
Put away stock, finished goods, and materials when needed.
Perform tasks while complying with company safety policies.
Follow OSHA standards
Participate in routine practices and team projects relating to LEAN, 5S, Scrap, Safety, Quality, etc.
Work overtime when required
Follow all ISO 9001 and AS9100 practices
Perform other duties as required
Lex Warehouse Material Handler should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
1+ years of material handling and inventory management experience
High school diploma or GED or any other equivalent diploma needs to have at least 2 years of more experience working with a manufacturing company (electrical parts experience is preferable)
Thorough understanding and experience in Bills of Materials, routings, cycle count, the function of inventory control and order processing
Swing Reach Truck certification required.
Forklift Operators certificate preferred.
Ability to maintain an attendance record in good standing (per Lex policies) in order to fulfill Material Handler duties.
Current forklift certification preferred.
Practical problem solving with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists

Flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment and work assignments
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted throughout the day.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
