As one of Gas Compressor Engineering's subject matter expert on materials performance, this roll will be responsible for working with GCE leadership to define and validate material selections for standard compressor offerings, corrosion-resistant offerings, and specific customer applications. Material selection will include analyzing corrosion potential, as well as collaborating with analysts to perform FEA-based fatigue crack growth rate life analysis, for the corrosive/aggressive gas constituents in consideration.
Additionally, to improve capabilities to operate under aggressive gas environments, this role will be responsible for defining and guiding material test programs for expanding corrosive/aggressive environment capability for Gas Compressors, as well as defining, improving, and maintaining material selection criteria, and acceptable indication criteria for all standard corrosive/aggressive gas constituents.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree or higher in the area of Material Sciences or related degree
8 years of experience in this or related fields
Knowledge of material performance in aggressive environments: H2S, chlorides, CO2, hydrogen, etc, for industry standard materials
Knowledge of industry-standard test procedures for material qualification
Ability to guide compressor BOM material selections in a scientific and systematic manner
