The marketing assistant for Brian Kelly, Founder of The Points Guy, will work alongside the communications, social, partnerships, newsletter and editorial team on all aspects of social, partnership presence, media appearances and newsletter that involve Brian directly. The marketing assistant will be responsible for applying expert knowledge of best practices in communications, public relations, social and marketing to elevate Brian Kelly as the face and key spokesperson for The Points Guy brand. The marketing assistant will lead various tasks and initiatives such as helping manage Brian Kelly’s presence and role in partnership pitches, his role on TPG social and on TPG video, preparing briefers and conducting research for media appearances and working closely on The Points Guy’s social impact efforts. The ideal candidate has an interest and experience in marketing, talent management or consumer PR and media relations and a passion for travel and giving back. This role will include occasional travel.
This position reports to the VP of Communications and will be based in The Points Guy’s New York City office.
Responsibilities Include
Collaborate closely with Communications, Partnerships, Social, Newsletter and Editorial teams on a go to market strategies that involve Brian Kelly
Travel to and on-site management of Brian Kelly on video shoots, media appearances, partnership meetings and photoshoots [this role may require international and domestic travel]
Use creative and editorial judgment as it relates to Brian for The Points Guy campaigns
Collaborate with key brand partners, influencers and media
Conduct research and handle preparation for Brian Kelly media appearances
Skills
4-5 years of experience in media, talent management, agency or communications experience required
Proven track record of creating and executing successful campaigns at a national level
Strong storytelling ability
Mission-driven with a passion for travel, credit cards and points and miles is a plus
Compensation
Cash Compensation Range: $62,500-$87,500*
Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
