Marketing and Communications Manager

We are partnering with our client, an organization at the intersection of the non-profit and technology worlds, to recruit a Marketing and Communications Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be a communications pro first and foremost, guiding internal communications strategy within the organization, PR and media efforts, positioning, web content and similar written strategy. You will also be tasked with driving data-informed marketing and campaign strategy to increase ROI and efficacy. You will manager a team of two direct reports to aid in tactical writing and design, so this is a working management role. Blending both the tactical and strategic side of your experience will be crucial to success on this team! We're looking for 5+ years of relevant PR, communications and marketing experience with at least 1(+) year(s) of direct people management experience. Non-profit and/or NGO experience is required for consideration.

This is a salaried position, ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, with potential flexibility for a perfect match. This is a FULLY REMOTE role for US-based candidates, but we are looking for those closest to an Eastern Time schedule, as this role will consistently work with international team members.


You will:

  • Serve as the organization's in-house communications and PR expert, guiding messaging, media placement, executive and thought leadership, and overall voice of the organization for both external and internal audiences
  • Guide data-driven digital marketing campaigns to optimize ROI and audience engagement
  • Liaise with cross-functional senior leadership to provide strategic insights, data and other support as the communications expert for the org
  • Manage a team of two creatives in content and design, keeping ownership of the organization's brand guidelines and best practices to review, edit and optimize their creative output


Your experience should include:

  • 5+ years of PR, comms and marketing experience with strong foundational knowledge of internal communications, media relations, crisis management and traditional digital marketing
  • 1+ year(s) of direct management experience
  • Experience in non-profit or other NGO work, required; Additional experience working with technology-driven non-profits, highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
