We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic new member of our team. As a market analyst and part of our publication team, you will be responsible for conducting secondary research to support the development of customer-ready market reports on the analytical and life science instrumentation industry. Successful candidates must have an interest in market research, be inquisitive, and have an interest in finding solutions to help make better business decisions. A scientific background is required.
Responsibilities
Project manager for market research projects
Write reports and articles for publication
Collaborate with other analysist and staff as necessary to support quality production of projects
Design surveys for target scientific populations; analyze survey data and statistics
Create client deliverables including summaries, recommendations, and market forecasts
Present findings to clients and provide recommendations on strategy. Summarize findings in stand-alone report or as part of a larger, multi-modal study
Ideal candidates must be interested in learning about:
Quantitative research methodologies, financial statements reviews, public statement and presentation reviews as well as other secondary research methods
Evolving analytical technologies and laboratory research trends
Conducting interviews with executives and product managers representing suppliers in the market
Skills & Competencies
Must have skills for this role include:
Excellent written and oral communication skills and proofreading skills
Ability to gather and integrate information through secondary research and company interviews and synthesize into compelling written materials
Aptitude for critical thinking and attention to detail
Ability to read and understand financial statements
Ability to write conclusive reports to drive business decisions
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong project management and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in professional writing
Experience with chromatography, molecular spectroscopy, atomic spectroscopy, or nuclear magnetic resonance
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in relevant discipline, advanced coursework or master’s degree in a business field (i.e. MBA) or scientific field is preferred, but not required
Minimum 2 years hands-on laboratory experience (can include professional training)
2 to 4 years relevant science industry/sector experience desired (e.g., analytical instrument sales, product development, marketing, technical support)
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite
Ability and willingness to travel (at least 10%) to facilitate research, attend conferences, or present results
