Pay: $24 base pay + $2 night shift differential
Schedule: Thursday night (Friday) 1:00 am-7:00 am & Friday-Sunday 7:00 pm-7:00 am
This position is for a weekend night shift.
Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the scheduling, material handling, and assembly/production of finished products for assigned production cells. This position is also responsible for demonstrating a commitment to safety, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and maintaining a cost-effective operation. In addition, the Production Supervisor is central to ensuring a positive workplace culture for all company associates.
Duties And Responsibilities
Work with the Operations Manager to develop, and maintain production flow and procedures.
Handles routine personnel issues including training, coaching, and counseling subordinates
Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions
Monitor production/manpower levels within the area of responsibility to ensure continued efficiency while anticipating problems and developing contingencies
Maintain a clean and safe plant
Manage and escalate equipment and product quality issues
Support 5S, and Lean Projects and continuously identify ways to reduce plant operating costs
Maintain a positive work relationship with other departments regarding operations procedures and equipment use
Maintain, evaluate, and report on production performance measures to ensure production efficiency and continued improvement utilizing the proprietary Shop Floor Reporting System
Identify and participate in events to continuously improve all plant operations.
Participates in company planning meetings as required
Work closely with the Supply Chain Management team in determining the Daily Production Schedules
Records production and performs backflush within our ERP system on a daily basis
Supervise, Train & Evaluate production staff comprised of employees and temporary staff
Supervise Material Handlers, and coordinate material movement within work cells and shop floor
Establish Job Descriptions and Training procedures for employees
Work with the Ops Manager and HR to coordinate the need for temporary employees
Maintain company inventory, scrap, problem, and quality records
Work with the Cycle Counters on an as-needed basis to validate inventory accuracy
Assists with the annual physical inventory
Report Defective Material issues to the Quality Department on a daily basis
Participate in events on the shop floor to identify areas for efficiency gains
Work with the Maintenance Dept to implement a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program
Conduct internal department audits of the documentation process during production runs
Requests purchases of equipment, tools, material handling/storage items as necessary for the operation of work cells
Evaluate and identify the disposition of nonconforming inventory
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Other duties as assigned as it relates to the essential functions of the position
Education And Experience
Preferred - Engineering Degree in a related field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial).
Minimum -High School Education
Warehouse/Inventory Control experience
MS Office Suite
Bi-lingual/Spanish preferred
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required in a multiple-department setting

Must be capable of assuming responsibility and planning own work to accomplish duties efficiently in a confidential and professional manner.
Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to learn the company’s product lines and their component parts.
Must be able to multi-task and exhibit a hands-on style of leadership.
Must be able to learn and execute inventory control methods; maintain accurate records on forms and in the computer.
Must have a problem-solving approach to challenges.
Knowledge with continuous improvement concepts and philosophies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage extruder operators and coilers – including but not limited to hiring, training, and providing feedback both positive and critical through performance reviews and/or corrective actions
