What?

This position is responsible for the day-to-day shift production operations. Incumbent will have responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety, morale, methodical problem solving and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development and support to 45 or more direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main aspects of the role include:

  • Partnership with cross-functional partners like Safety, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, etc. to support company goals.
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation, continuous improvement, and cooperation are used to solve problems
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members via individual development plans and/or other documentation.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize lean manufacturing tools
  • Understand core mechanical technologies, including fasteners, lubrication, drives, transmission systems, motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical/controls
  • Employee training and development including generating annual employee SMARTS goals, Individual Career Development Plans, and department succession plans

You!

The ideal candidate will have a two or four year degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Management is desired with two plus years experience in a manufacturing preferred. In addition, this candidate should have experience in lean manufacturing or green/black belt in Lean Dix Sigma highly preferred. This candidate should have proven leadership, management, and people development skills. The individual should have strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to think strategically and convert strategy into action. This position does require the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
