Job Description: Manufacturing Operator

Summary

Job Summary The Manufacturing Operator will support Granulation, Blending, Compression, Coating, and Encapsulation processes. This hourly role reports to a Front-Line Supervisor and is based at our Hauppauge or Central Islip, New York facilities. Available shifts are:

1st Shift: 07:00 am - 03:30 pm 2nd Shift: 03:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate pharmaceutical production machinery independently.
  • Execute manufacturing processes according to batch manufacturing records (BMR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform machine changeovers, cleaning, and setup as per SOPs, ensuring area and equipment cleanliness.
  • Prepare rooms and equipment for line clearance, replace filters, verify calibration of scales, and check room pressure differentials.
  • Ensure line clearance before starting manufacturing activities.
  • Receive/transfer materials, check dispensed materials, final mix blends, compressed tablets, and labeling per BMR.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as per SOP/BMR.
  • Operate applicable equipment independently in designated areas.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to maintain product specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout manufacturing.
  • Complete manufacturing documents accurately and on time.
  • Train on all relevant SOPs and maintain compliance with cGMP.
  • Perform duties safely according to Health & Safety procedures and Equipment Manuals.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain discipline and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Positive, professional attitude and willingness to cooperate with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, additional hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work with powders containing active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • Capable of heavy lifting/bending frequently.
  • Able to stand/walk for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to move pallets/equipment weighing 200-300 kg using pallet jacks.
