Job Description
Client Medical's Manufacturing Engineering departments have fully automated manufacturing equipment designed to assemble Peripheral I.V. Catheters.
The manufacturing engineers (and our interns) work towards process improvement in assembly and packaging, as well as focus on quality, scrap, and machine improvements.
We drive related activities in the department to support the ultimate objective of 100% equipment up-time, zero product defects, and cycle time reduction.
This internship gives opportunities to gain hands-on work experience with the intent of training the intern for the potential of starting a successful career after graduation
Responsibilities
Provide daily project or emergency support to engineering, operations or maintenance departments.
Work with Senior Engineering to plan, implement and coordinate improvements to existing fully automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
Work with production personnel to understand and improve operation of production equipment.
Work with production maintenance to develop the ability to perform routine troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
Assist an engineering project leader by completing technical tasks (design and solid modeling, sourcing and assembly of components, and implementing improvements using standard validation processes).
Intern will learn validation principles through client validation training and then apply them under the supervision of a project engineer.
Intern will learn the basics of the six-sigma methodology through "Six-Sigma Lite" training and will apply them in day-to-day problem solving.
Act as a team leader for smaller engineering projects or short-term production support projects.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and client safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
Comply with all local client quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program, with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
Must be able to work year round.
Expected to work full-time hours in the summer and 15-20 hours during the school year.
Students entering their Junior year are preferred. Pay varies by year in school.
Other internship experiences preferred.
