Manufacturing Engineering Intern - Fall Semester

Position Summary

The intern is responsible for performing duties related to reviewing, assessing, updating and improving system documentation in the Dayton Facility production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Engineering & Operations to create new Machining Instructions
  • Review and validate current Machining Instructions and make updates as required
  • Support 3D printing initiatives
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure Machining Instruction inspection requirements are aligned with other system documentation
  • Assist with data gathering to support capabilities analysis of part key characteristics
  • Support departmental and plant continuous improvement activities and assigned projects
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Required

  • Ability to manage multiple, fluid priorities and proactively address business demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork
  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed
  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision

Required

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in technical curriculum

Preferred

  • Experience in Engineering Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and metrology
