Job Summary

  • The main responsibility of a manufacturing engineer is to solve problems related to industrial layout and manufacturing production using engineering principles and theories.
  • The job requires the ability to make engineering drawings and interpret blueprints.
  • Responsibilities include studying time, motion, methods, and speed in maintenance and production to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
  • The engineer will interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • The engineer will verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications by reading worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets.
  • The engineer will aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • The job requires the preparation of charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Essential skills include creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • The engineer should be a team player and detail-oriented.
  • The ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations is necessary.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports is required.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), is necessary.
  • The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in the field is required.
