Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

SAI, a growing electronic contract manufacturer located in Carlsbad is seeking an experienced well rounded manufacturing Engineer. This opportunity is for the pm shift and will assist in all areas of production with technical knowledge.

The Engineer will be able to take a project from the conception stage through to completion. Must be able to will create, modify, and test manufacturing processes; specifically, during the introduction of new production builds. Will collaborate with Senior Engineer in process improvements & help generate manufacturing procedures; perform time studies to establish manufacturing effectiveness for each manufacturing process. Will Maximizes efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Will determine the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Will collaborate with Senior Engineer on quotes delivering accurate accounting of all engineering hours required for various projects, and identifying deficiencies, developing solutions to processes, and converting customer specifications into documentation that will be utilized to set up the manufacturing process for new product introductions.

Experience/skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 5 years’ experience working in electronic manufacturing in a medical device environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and team members
• Proficiency with computer skills
• Results-oriented and customer service driven
• General knowledge of SMT, System Integration, Wire & Cables
• Working knowledge of the medical industry regs. (ISO 9001/ ISO13485)
• Excellent planning, prioritization, and time management skills
• Strong mechanical background and ability to work with ambiguity
• Familiarity with a variety of business concepts, practices, and procedures
