As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of specialists, you will develop a coordinated manufacturing system maximizing state of the art manufacturing processes to design and manufacture sophisticated space propulsion systems.
Partnering with manufacturing and facilities, you’ll lead this process and gathers the manufacturing and facility needs, utilizes Lean techniques and creates meaningful foundations for high-efficiency manufacturing processes. Collaborating with automation engineers, process engineers, design and analysis engineers, machine and process operators, enterprise tool developers, and equipment and material vendors, you’ll identify requirements and opportunities for data, tools, equipment and workflow automation.
This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
Lead manufacturing-related projects
Provide production support - scheduling, theory of constraint, budget & forecast, crew empowerment, defect analysis, core competency definition, make/buy evaluation, benchmarking analysis
Identify and prioritize process improvement project - lean manufacturing, engineering economic analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, statistical methods, six sigma and time studies
Lead operations improvement - ergonomic & human factor, operations plans, recovery planning, capacity planning and capital planning
Facilitate system integration - Value Stream Analysis, Facility Layouts, Production Systems Design, Manufacturing Process Design, Systems Thinking, Facilities Planning, and Requirements
Qualifications:
BS in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
3+ years of experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment
Factory flow, process modeling and simulations experience
Experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events
Strong analytic skill set and a high degree of proficiency in data mining
Exceptional with Excel and manual data analysis
Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
Self-Starter
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE and/or MBA
Rocket Engine Manufacturing Experience
Demonstrated ability in manufacturing and/or facilities planning
Project Management Certification (PMP)
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
Experience transitioning development to production
Manned space flight production experience
Strong teaming skills
Experience with manufacturing organizations and/or supply chain
Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes
