Job Description
This position will support the manufacturing processes at Portland Bolt and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support both top line and bottom line growth for the company. The engineer will also be responsible for facility flow improvements, Kaizen events, and new equipment installation.
Essential Job Functions
- Optimize facility layout, production flow and material handling methods
- Create and maintain complete Value Stream Maps and integrate into Continuous Improvement process
- Manage new equipment installation and commissioning
- Creating Standard Operating Procedures for all areas of facility
- Resolve issues and delays in production
- Manage safety and quality improvement and cost reduction pipelines
- Other duties as assigned to facility performance
Required Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. in mechanical/industrial engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience
- Well-versed in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD program
- Well-versed in MS Office suite of programs
- Experience managing project timelines and budgets
- Logical and analytic approach to problem solving
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in data analysis techniques and Software (Minitab/JMP)
- Basic understanding of PLC programming
- CNC machining, setup and programming experience
Physical Requirements
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Frequently Use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Regularly Stand; Walk
- Ability to lift 50lbs
