Position Summary:

Step into the dynamic world of Kistler as a Manufacturing Engineer, where your passion for enhancing manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials will drive innovation. Partnering closely with our cutting-edge product development team, you'll ensure the highest quality (meeting AS9100D standards), manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness of Kistler products through lean six sigma methodologies. Your focus will be on supporting our dedicated machine shop and assembly personnel who craft our exceptional transducers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovate and collaborate with R&D to refine both new and existing designs and processes, optimizing them for seamless manufacture.
  • Design and implement essential tools, fixtures, or equipment that boost production efficiency.
  • Develop lean cell layouts and workflows to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Engage in drawing reviews and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to ensure the utmost quality and reliability.
  • Ensure established products and their corresponding infrastructure are up-to-date with accurate ERP data and production documentation, including BOMs, routings, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges in the assembly or machine shop, identifying root causes, implementing solutions, and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Identify and seize improvement opportunities through lean manufacturing principles, including process automation.
  • Assist the machine shop in capital investments and tool selection to enhance capabilities.
  • Provide management with key productivity metrics such as throughput time and yields.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and provide training on assembly methods, test procedures, and production equipment to our assembly technicians.
  • Ensure the accuracy of bill of materials, routings, work instructions, and test procedures, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year technical or engineering college or university.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Practical mechanical and basic electronics knowledge with hands-on work experience.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in team settings and handle criticism and conflict constructively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of daily tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and solving a variety of situations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, project management software (Clarity), CAD software (SolidWorks), and MRP/ERP (SAP) systems.
