Overview
The Manufacturing Business Lead (MBL) plays a critical role in our operating model that connects the Make Pillar (including our manufacturing plant teams) to our business priorities through process, program leadership, and strategy execution. The Manufacturing Business Lead is aligned to an Operating Unit (OU) and reports directly to the Sr Director of Manufacturing.
The MBL will be a key leader in the OU and Pillar Business Process Management and (BPM) Peak processes, lead initiatives connected to our business & plant priorities, and partner with our business and cross functional stakeholders to deliver the annual and long-range plan for each OU. Specific priorities may vary year to year, yet all activities will be strategically aligned to the Manufacturing and OU business plans.
Results will be delivered through process rigor (examples: project management, BPM, manufacturing excellence standards, tools, and processes), building capability in others, strong collaboration skills, communication skills, and ability influence others to drive positive outcomes.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $104700.00 - $157200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Key Accountabilities
- In partnership with Manufacturing leadership, establish priorities and initiatives that enable OU business plans
- Engage in the OU BPM process, representing Manufacturing, to influence priorities, decisions, actions and outcomes within the business and across Manufacturing
- Lead Run, Improve and/or Transform initiatives for Manufacturing
- Leverage process rigor and coaching for capability building to deliver results aligned with the OU annual plans and priorities
- Clearly articulate Manufacturing strategy, trade-offs, decisions, implications to the business, cross functional teams, and the End to End Supply Chain in alignment with the OU annual plans and priorities
- Lead prioritized work in support of the delivery of the annual business plans
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of related experience: Operations, Logistics Operations, Supply Planning, etc.
- Strong understanding of overall plant operations
- Highly self-motivated
- Understanding and commitment to Continuous Improvement
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects in parallel
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive change
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and decision-making skills
- Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Build and exhibit cross-functional influence skills across virtual and in-person teams
- Previous plant experience
- Previous experience working within the Supply Chain Business Planning Management process to deliver results
- Comfortable working in a matrixed position that has multiple stakeholders
