Qualifications
Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test planning, test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
Ability to create detailed test cases based on requirements and execute them manually to identify defects and ensure software functionality.
Proficiency in using bug tracking tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or HP ALM to report and track defects throughout the testing process.
Experience in performing regression testing to ensure that new features or changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
Capability to perform exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues that may not be covered by scripted test cases.
Ability to create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders regarding testing activities and findings.
Keen attention to detail to identify and document software defects accurately.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and determine the root cause of defects.
Ability to prioritize testing tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Familiarity with specific domain knowledge may be required depending on the industry or domain of the software being tested (e.g., finance, healthcare, e-commerce).
Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
Eagerness to stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in software testing through self-learning, training, and professional development opportunities.
