Job Description

Under the direction of the manager, responsible for managing a team that handles the administration of Agency and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) accounts as well as maintaining their own book of accounts. Provides a high level of customer service, advice and guidance to the team, relationship managers, clients, attorneys, and CPA’s. Shares responsibilities with assigned relationship manager for soliciting, developing, managing and retaining client relationships. Assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, direction and a motivational environment, counsels and provides for the development of the team and performs resource and workload planning. Responsible for the management of employees including staffing, compensation, performance management, training and development, succession planning and affirmative action. Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff.
  • In conjunction with the assigned Relationship Manager, responsible for the day-today account administration and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, policies and procedures related to investment agency and IRA accounts ensuring that the objectives of the grantor/principal are met and are consistent with governing documents, policies and procedures and fiduciary administration principals.
  • Monitors and controls risk in all aspects of account administration including Internal Revenue Code requirements and timeframe restrictions as they relate to IRAs. Handles all research and resolves client problems and initiates corrective action to ensure complete client satisfaction. Exercises prudent and judicious use of signing authority within authorized limits to approve daily work. Provides effective administration of accounts that are team Center owned.
  • Provides support to the account Relationship Manager in the retention, growth and profitability of assigned client relationships. For accounts that are directly assigned, provides outbound client calls to establish, maintain and expand relationships.
  • Executes corporate strategic initiatives and priorities related to Wealth Management. Actively ensures compliance with all PCS Policies and Procedures, the Bank Code of Business conduct & Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Banks Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements. Actively participates in required corporate and business line training in these areas.
  • Keeps current on all business trends and changes in laws affecting IRA administration. Participates in Continuing Education classes/seminars/telephone briefing. Strives for efficiencies in streamlining administrative recommendations within the teams.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • This position requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in the retirement, investment or financial services field with extensive knowledge of general retirement, investments and financial services sales. At least 2 to 3 years supervisory or management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or willingness to learn bank and trust related software/systems such as Star PC, Metavante, Addvantage, Blue 360 or other equivalent applications. Requires extensive knowledge of Wealth Management products and services and expert knowledge of personal trust products and services.
  • Other Job Qualifications: Strategic thinker, well developed analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills to include excellent writing, speaking, listening, interpersonal and presentation skills. Possesses customer relations, networking and business development skills. Demonstrated experience developing and managing teams. Ability to take direction and work proactively. Ability to drive a cohesive team culture through active leadership and management including goal setting, coaching, motivation, recognition, consequence management and performance monitoring. Must be able to provide own transportation and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required. Travels by air as required. Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
