Accompany Health is on a mission to give low-income patients with complex needs the dignified, high-quality care they deserve but rarely receive. A primary, behavioral, and social care provider, Accompany Health walks alongside patients for their entire care journey, offering at-home and virtual care, as well as 24/7 support. Partnering with innovative payors, Accompany Health is powered by remarkable care teams, elegant technology, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

We build long-term relationships with our patients so they know, without question, that our team is here for them day or night, year after year. We focus on the health outcomes most important to our patients to make it clear that they lead the way.

To achieve our mission, we collaborate with community-based organizations, local providers, and health plans. Led by our empathetic care teams, guided by proven care models, and powered by our own technology, we deliver a level of service that our communities rightfully deserve but rarely receive.

While our headquarters is in Bethesda, MD, our teams are distributed across the country. If you’re eager to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, to help correct long-standing disparities in health care, join us.

About the role:

As an Analytics Manager for Accompany Health, you will be:

  • A mission-critical, early part of our growing product team (and company)
  • Working with talented product, engineering, operations, financial, and actuarial teams that come from a variety of backgrounds
  • Developing systems that demonstrate the value of our care model

Responsibilities will include:

  • Strategically:
  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while driving the development of analytics strategies for patient engagement, risk-adjustment (CMS-HCC), and quality (HEDIS) reporting across multiple markets.
  • Develop and document a thorough understanding of Accompany Health’s data ecosystem to ensure analytic reporting products appropriately reflect the nuances and limitations of these sources, while enabling exemplary performance on value-based reporting and reconciliation.
  • Align and manage cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, data, product, finance, and actuarial teams, to ensure the successful execution of analytics projects and initiatives.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of value-based care, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations and anticipate regulatory changes to inform strategic planning and guide your team's analytics roadmap development.
  • Champion the use of advanced analytics, data visualization, and reporting tools to drive actionable insights and support strategic decision-making within the organization, mentoring your team in these best practices.
  • Build and maintain systems capable of rapid learning and adaptation, enabling the evaluation of new strategies for patient engagement and care delivery.
  • Tactically:
  • Leverage your prior experience and subject-matter/technical expertise to oversee analytics related to patient engagement, risk-adjustment (i.e., CMS-HCC), and HEDIS quality reporting and reconciliation across multiple markets.
  • Be hands on designing, developing, and executing on analytic deliverables. You may need to create the first version of things to show your team what high quality work needs to look like. You will be hands on in how to design systems and use automation and AI in ways that can reliably reproduce high quality work in scalable ways.
  • Provide direct people management, active coaching, and performance management to a team of data analysts, while also contributing individually to define, manage, and execute against an analytics roadmap.
  • Become an expert on our internal data systems, including payer eligibility and claim files, payer reports, EHR exports, and vendor-provided data assets.
  • Collaborate in the development and execution of cross-functional data strategies, shared services, and ad hoc reports that ensure timely, accurate, accessible, and actionable reporting in support of our value-based contract performance across multiple markets.
  • Collaborate with finance, actuarial, and data science teams to design and execute evaluation plans that measure the impact of Accompany Health’s care model.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to accelerate automation of processes and drive scale and efficiency in our analytics operations. Be willing and able to test tools like AI that improve quality and speed of delivery.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of healthcare data.

What makes you a fit for the team:

  • You approach your work with humility, recognizing that our system of care will need to learn and adapt to the needs of patients with complex needs
  • You show deep empathy for the needs of patients, clinicians, and your colleagues to change the fundamental paradigm of care delivery for marginalized patients
  • You have a distinctive ability to get a highly cross-functional group of stakeholders – technical and non-technical – on the same page
  • You come to well-informed opinions based on gathering the right information and data – but are open to changing your perspective when the situation evolves or new facts emerge
  • You focus on getting things done in the most effective, efficient manner for the task at hand – rather than following a specific process for its own sake
  • You have the resilience to dive headfirst into challenging problems – healthcare is complicated and there’s a lot to be fixed
  • You are excited to work in a startup environment, with the ambiguity and shifting priorities that might come with it at times

Desired skills and experience:

  • Required
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics, with a focus on attribution, risk-adjustment, and quality (HEDIS).
  • 3+ years in project or product management, focused on timely and high quality delivery of analytic products
  • 1-2 years of direct people management experience.
  • Extremely clear communicator – verbally & in writing
  • Extensive experience with eligibility and claims data from payers.
  • Technical expertise in SQL, Python, Spark, data warehousing, and data visualization (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI).
  • Preferred
  • Experience with CMS HCC risk adjustment and HEDIS
  • Experience with AWS services like Glue, S3, Athena.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake or Redshift
  • Familiarity with healthcare delivery
  • Familiarity with value-based care
