Manager, Strategic Investments

The NFL Business Development & Strategic Investments group is seeking a Manager who will support key business strategy and principal investment initiatives, including the NFL’s Strategic Investment Fund (32 Equity). The Manager will drive investment and equity value creation opportunities that meet the NFL’s strategic criteria and are financially attractive. As part of these responsibilities, the Manager will support deal sourcing, due diligence, execution, and post-investment activities. The group’s overall activities are highly visible to executive leadership and ownership of the NFL. This is an exciting chance to be in an investing-oriented role at the NFL and work daily with key league and club personnel across key NFL strategic initiatives. This role requires strong financial modeling capabilities, highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, an understanding of the sports and media landscape, and a foundation in investment diligence and execution.

Overview / Objective

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and execute strategies for key business areas
  • Assist in developing new initiatives by assessing and analyzing new markets, critical media and sports trends, and competitive landscapes
  • Conduct financial analyses and develop proposals for new business and investment opportunities
  • Take a meaningful role in all aspects of deal development and prospecting, sourcing, negotiating and closing
  • Help manage partner relationships
  • Create and participate in strategic presentations to senior executives inside and outside the organization
  • Contribute to positive group culture to foster high performance, efficient processes, and professional development

Required Education And Experience

  • B.A. or B.S.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience at a leading investment bank, consulting firm, or private equity investment firm (preferably in TMT groups)

Qualifications

  • Ability to create, work within, and present financial models for deal analysis and valuation
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when multi-tasking across various projects in a fast-paced environment; expected to execute tasks with minimal error and with high level of efficiency
  • A solid work ethic; positive attitude and desire for continued career growth
  • Deep interest and enthusiasm for media, technology and sports industries
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to efficiently produce materials and analyses in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and clearly articulate details to senior management
  • Confident, positive personal style that can persuade and motivate others to accomplish corporate goals while holding team members accountable to a high standard of performance
  • Unwavering commitment to honest and ethical business interactions

Terms /Expected Hours Of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role will require extended hours on nights and/or weekends
  • FLSA exempt

Salary / Pay Range

  • This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$110,000 — $125,000 USD
