Role Overview
The Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Operations is a critical role responsible for procuring and managing the supply of pharmaceuticals needed for patient treatments. This position involves close collaboration with specialty pharmacies and distributors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications for at-home infusions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations and an understanding of the logistics involved in drug handling and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with partner specialty pharmacies to procure drugs for scheduled at-home infusion treatments.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations regarding drug purchasing, shipping, and handling.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drug requirements, including storage and safety protocols.
Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of necessary pharmaceuticals.
Monitor drug inventory levels with suppliers and anticipate needs to prevent shortages.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacist is preferred. Familiarity with pharmaceutical procurement and distribution processes is essential.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of drug handling guidelines and regulatory compliance related to pharmaceutical shipping and storage.
Startup Experience: Previous experience in startup environments is advantageous, particularly in healthcare or related fields.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage supply chain challenges effectively.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders, including pharmacists, suppliers, and healthcare teams.
