Job Summary

The Software Quality Assurance Manager leads a team tasked with ensuring the software developed by, and for, Lucet is of the utmost quality. As the leader responsible for setting and enforcing the enterprise-wide standards for software testing, the Software QA manager is constantly collaborating with their peers internally. As a mentor and trainer, the Software QA manager will create more of a positive impact within Lucet by ensuring everyone keeps quality at the forefront of their minds. Since QA is the responsibility of all members of the software development team, the Software QA Manager ensures those members have all the necessary tools at their disposal. Their efforts directly impact the experiences had by our customers when they interact with our systems. As a result, issues are found quickly and are stopped before anyone can be impacted by them. The manager is also able to provide feedback to the team on the usability and user sentiment about the systems.

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership to a diverse, high-performing remote team coaching and fostering a culture of continuous development, innovation, and collaboration to enable continued and future success.
  • Work closely with Development, Business Analysis, Operations teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that all deadlines and goals are met, as well as quality software is released on schedule.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate testing status, results, and recommendations.
  • Lead testing projects from planning to execution, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and timely delivery.
  • Responsible for the operational excellence of the QA Team, including setting the technical vision for developing test frameworks and automation. Understanding how all elements of the software ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches that fit the overall strategy.
  • Integrate automated tests with Azure Pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. Ensuring the creation of automated test scripts for the testing of API and UI testing.
  • Provide expertise for Development, InfoSec, and Operations in all areas of software quality, including the deployment process.
  • Identify meaningful trends and practices, so Lucet can release quickly and with high confidence.
  • Define testing and test automation coding norms, including technology/tool selection, oversight of their implementation, and promoting continuous improvement through regular reviews.
  • Responsible for scaling out automated testing in a continuous integration environment, defining and evolving our testing strategies in service of team and company objectives.
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Implement change management processes to effectively manage changes to software systems, including assessing change impact, communicating change plans, and mitigating risks associated with change.
  • Be a champion of quality and operational excellence: establish team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence and a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software quality assurance, and incorporate them into our QA processes and methodologies.

  • Comply with all Federal and applicable State laws and Lucet policies regarding privacy, confidentiality and security of health information and other designated information.


Required

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science or an equivalent experience of at least 10 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer and/or Analyst.
  • 10+ years' experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques, and tools but with an emphasis on Azure technologies for the automated testing of securely developed API and UI projects within the Azure development stack.
  • 4+ years' experience in a previous leadership/management role
  • 2+ years' experience in a senior role
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines is essential
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, decision making and communication skills.
  • Expect and require innovation from team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.


Preferred

  • Experience within the healthcare industry

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed indoors in a remote, home setting or typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to VDT screens, video calling, headphones, and computers.
  • Physical demands include constant ability to remain in a stationary position, move about inside an office or remote setting, able to communicate and exchange information with others, able to inspect information, and able to perform repetitive motion with arms and fingers.
  • Mental demands include constant ability to interpret data, problem solve, make decisions, and organize and plan.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The starting salary that Lucet reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $112,000 - $132,000 annually, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills, education/degrees, certifications, prior experience, market data, and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of Lucet's incentive plan based on both company performance and individual performance.
