Wondery is seeking a Manager, People Operations & Experience to support our growing business. The candidate should be business-minded, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented. This is a great opportunity to work for one of the leaders in the audio space and define the culture.

This full-time position will report to the Head of Strategy, Operations & Programming. It is a highly influential role that will serve as a role model for Wondery’s mission, values, and cultural norms. They will work with many departments across Wondery and Amazon to ensure we are productive and creating the premier employee experience. They will have a positive attitude that helps them thrive in an intellectually curious, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.

This position is right for you if you're entrepreneurial, experienced in shaping and reinforcing a strong culture, training and developing our team, among other processes. This job is open to candidates who can work in the Los Angeles office.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to define and execute Wondery’s people strategy, aligning it with the company’s long-term goals
  • Plan, manage, and track headcount needs, job duties, qualifications, and skills across Wondery
  • Expand, conceptualize, and execute programs that drive employee engagement, boosting employee morale, employee recognition, learning and development, and a positive culture within the org
  • Content creation for internal communication channels, such as new employee welcomes, product and program launch announcements, promotions announcements, newsletters, parliament meetings, wiki and organization site design.
  • Implement effective systems and processes to support key people functions, including onboarding, All Hands events, and learning & development
  • Manage Wondery’s Operating Rhythm Calendar
  • Lead change management initiatives and support the organization through periods of growth and evolution
  • Work closely and collaborate with program partners and key stakeholders to develop and execute communications outputs and program mechanisms. Partners include Wondery EA team and HR team. Stakeholders include the Wondery leadership team.
  • Develop mechanisms to track the success of programs and seek methods to continually improve.
  • Work with Finance, Legal, Accounting, and Tax on expansion coordination
  • Work across Amazon to learn and share best practices

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives in internal or external communications, employee experience, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and cultivating team culture

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to be both a substantive issue expert on matters related to Amazon’s business and a manager of complex political relationships

Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging

Experience identifying and understanding key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in state and/or local political environments, understanding business implications, and synthesizing information for internal and external customers, and recommending a best course of action

Demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, state government, and regulatory agency levels

Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
