The Role

Sauce Labs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, HR Operations to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of all human resources operations within the organization. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of HR processes, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on delivering high-quality HR services to employees and stakeholders.

This role will be a Fix-Term (Temporary) position for 1 year to support the Director, Global People Operations during her parental leave and consecutive part-time work. The position will start with managerial responsibilities of a global team of 4 for the first 5 months, moving into an Individual Contributor role for the remainder of the year with responsibilities focusing on project-based initiatives, People Data, Systems, and overall support of the global people operations team.

The preferred location is the San Francisco Bay area, to have a 1-2 day a week presence in the office.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring efficient delivery of services and adherence to established policies and procedures. (For 4 months)
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries and escalations, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.

HR Systems Management

  • Ensure HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other HR-related software platforms perform flawlessly; ensuring data accuracy, system integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Compliance And Policy Adherence

  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency and standardization across the organization.

Employee Relations And Support

  • Ensure timely and effective services and support for employees and leaders.
  • Be an escalation point: Serve as a resource for employees and managers on HR-related matters, including but not limited to benefits administration, payroll inquiries, and employee relations issues.
  • Collaborate with other People functions, such as Talent and People Business Partner, to support the full employee lifecycle and promote a positive employee experience.
  • Handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Metrics And Reporting

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights from data to senior leadership, present key findings clearly and concisely, highlight their implications for the organization and offer actionable recommendations aligned with strategic objectives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools. Experience with HR platforms (we use Bamboo, ADP, Lattice, ChartHop, and Greenhouse) preferred.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers.

We are a hybrid workplace that recognizes the importance of flexibility while valuing in-person collaboration and relationship building. As a result, Saucers located near an office location must be able and willing to come into the office. Those hired remotely must be able and willing to travel to an office as required by the specific role.

We are excited to share the base salary for this position exclusive of fringe benefits, potential bonuses or stock-based compensation. Your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience, along with its relationship to the base salaries of current team members at Sauce Labs that are similarly situated.
