As a successful Cloud Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for the daily activities of a team of Cloud Engineers with a focus on automating, operating, and securing cloud-based platforms and services.


You will receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Meeting delivery objectives will involve applying your experience in the implementation of system architecture and design.


Critical to success is a solid understanding of planning, design, development, maintenance, and support of cloud services along with collaborating with peer Managers, Product and Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Operations globally.


What You Will Do:

  • Manage an engineering team to optimize the quality and velocity of automation development and operations
  • Implement disciplined engineering and operational processes
  • Deliver quality managed services in a consistent, timely manner
  • Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables
  • Identify and measure team delivery indicators
  • Interact with peer Managers, Product and Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Operations


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud or software engineering
  • 2+ years leading a DevOps team or automation/software engineers
  • 1+ years' experience with public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience working in and leading distributed teams
  • Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed services
  • Production Service Ownership
  • Strong English communication skills


What Will Set You Apart:

  • Leading Private to Public Cloud migrations
  • Project delivery of IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS
  • Experience working with VMware Aria Automation
  • Multi-cloud, Systems, and Networking integration projects
  • Foundational understanding of ITIL and associated processes
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, testing complex software solutions to support distributed, scalable and highly available services
