Title: Director O&M


The Director OM will be the primary interface between SB Energy and its O&M Service provider, as well as other service providers and suppliers to ensure SBE targets for production and equipment availability are met across the portfolio. The role requires leadership and coordination between multiple internal and external entities to ensure alignment of priorities among all parties.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage day-to-day relationships and function as the primary SBE contact for communications with O&M Service providers.
  • Lead and Manage O&M Service Providers to contract requirements as per plan & objectives.
  • Commercial relations of SBE OM with all external parties (Service Providers, OEM, EPC, other)
  • Engage with Procurement for all OM related contract initiation, negotiation, closure and HOTO of contracts
  • Monthly/Quarterly key contract management activities
  • Management of OM related PR/PO/TO/invoices and coordination with AM for tracking of Opex
  • Coordination with Field Operations and Digital Operations to ensure expected service levels from all external parties are being met
  • Management of Spare parts and other assets of SBE OM – Procurement, Inventory, Audits, Reports
  • Warranty management with Service Provider and directly with OEM/EPC as required
  • Assisting Head of OM on development of SBE OM business and operations model
  • Set priorities and provide oversight to work conducted by O&M providers’ technicians, when needed.
  • Ensure plants are operating as per plan and meeting safety and quality requirements.
  • Provide feedback to O&M partner based on performance, safety and quality data and reports as per specific metrics.
  • In coordination with O&M Service Provider, pursue and resolve open warranty issues with OEMs and EPCs.
  • Manage all site related non-covered services, including vegetation management.
  • Manage SBE internal CMMS system for tracking of high priority issues associated with equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports across SBE portfolio.
  • Lead HOTO from SBE O&M and interface with SBE Projects, EPC and O&M provider across all turnover deliverables and closing of punch lists.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an MS or MBA is preferred.
  • Advanced degree or additional certifications such as PMP, CFA, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in industrial environments.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in utility scale solar operations required.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • Intimate knowledge of the energy and renewable energy market, and the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Technical knowledge of general plant and system processes, electrical and SCADA systems.
  • Technical knowledge in analyzing equipment performance and identifying performance issues using software tools.
  • Experience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC MV systems, network communications and monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Excellent learning skills with aptitude to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areas.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to take action through their influence.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial safety and experience in field quality is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other applications for productivity.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practices preferred
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams and schematics preferred.


Travel Requirements: Ability to travel, as required.


Location: Texas preferred. Open to remote work.


Base Pay- $160,000- $180,000


Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, certifications, specific work location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Base pay may vary per location due to differences in the cost of living.

The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual discretionary bonus, full Health & Wellness Benefits package, and other applicable incentive perks as outlined in any formal offer made. The final compensation package will be discussed with the candidate during the final stages of the hiring process.
