About The Role

  • Monitor staff productivity and ensure achievement of underwriting service levels
  • Ensure underwriting quality meets company and investor standards
  • Lead all staff training and development including program guidelines and underwriting practices
  • Develop new and dynamic ways to improve Underwriting processes and practices.
  • Lead by example – ZG is a Team Sport and we focus on that every day. Teamwork and collaboration are key to our success.
  • Achieve operational excellence through best-in-class processes and procedures
  • Continuously evaluate and apply best practices to maximize staff productivity
  • Manage a rapidly growing underwriting team
  • Support and work with production staff
  • Complete second reviews and resolve issues
  • Work with various levels of company management

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $113,200.00 - $180,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Clear and concise understanding of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Jumbo guidelines
  • Strong leader with demonstrated ability to mentor a team and partner with leadership
  • Consistently delivers timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical and decision-making skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Tableau reporting
  • Ability to articulate and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
