Amazon Fresh is looking for a talented merchandiser to drive the merchandising strategy and operations for the Lifestyle Essentials (i.e., household, personal care, beauty, pet, baby) and Alcohol category team.

In this role, you will deliver through a team of merchandising managers who develop and execute strategies to deliver a best in class customer experience that contributes towards sales and margin goals. The role provides counsel to the organization on merchandising decisions, ensuring harmony between selection, promotion, product placement, fixturing, supply chain, and technology choices. This position will also introduce training for the organization to upskill merchant capabilities.

The ideal candidate for this role is customer obsessed, thinks big, and is agile. They will have a strong passion for using data and analytics to identify opportunities to improve customer experience and drive customer growth. They are a strong communicator who can earn trust with key stakeholders across multiple teams. They are comfortable challenging the [grocery store] status quo and they're passionate about hiring, coaching, and developing teams.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the formation of the category's merchandising strategy that is accompanied by measurable success criteria on space productivity customer perception, and other store/category strategies.
  • Leverage vendor insights and expertise within their categories and determine merchandising specific insights that would be valuable to develop collaboratively.
  • Develop and improve merchandising processes, tools, and analytics
  • Lead and coach a team of merchandisers

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing teams
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
  • 7+ years relevant experience in retail, specifically merchandising

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using SQL to pull data and metrics to deliver reports
  • MBA
  • 10+ years experience in In-Store Merchandising for a Grocery Retailer or a Third Party Merchandiser.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
