Purpose
The Merchandising Business and Subsidies Manager will be responsible for the complete management of the merchandising vendor subsidies programs, working closely with the MVPs to analyze, recommend, develop and implement solutions to increase the company’s vendor subsidy program’s profitability and processing efficiency.
This position will work closely with the merchandising executive team and the financial planning and analysis department to develop business forecast projections and the company’s budgeting process. The associate will also analyze category business performances to interact and recommend and deploy solutions with the merchants to improve their overall business.
The ideal candidate will possess both strong quantitative and qualitative skillsets with a high aptitude to drive and lead process improvements to increase the company’s current $45M vendor subsidies portfolio and enjoys learning and growing in a fast-pace retail and dynamic organization
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years experiences in retail with heavily merchandising exposure
Strong inter-personal and leadership skills. Inquisitive and Self -Starter
Advanced Microsoft Excel. SQL, Access and Power BI skills desirable
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Essential Job Functions

Develop, recommend and implement solutions to increase subsidy program profitability including introduction of potential new subsidies initiatives
Responsible for the full and comprehensive management of the company’s $45M merchandising vendor subsidies programs
Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking through collaboration with Accounting to analyze and project full year earned income and develop tools to report results to Merchandising team regularly
Analyze historical financial data and create financial models for decision support
Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendation for improvement
Active engagement and participation in the sales forecasting and merchandising budgeting process. Oversee and manage the continuing development of existing collections processes to help innovate and drive operational efficiencies
Implement and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports
Responsible for timely processing and collection of Volume Rebates, New SKU Discounts, G.O. Discount, Late PO Chargebacks, Photography Chargebacks, Marketing Rebates and PRVs, and RTVs
Serve as the central point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders
Initiates and lead the renewal of supplier’s annual business agreement process with the buying team
Working Conditions (travel & environment)
Limited travel required/occasional travel required including air and car travel.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally/frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
