The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager, IT Operations to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our desktop infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and user experience. This role will work closely with our IT team to provide technical support and resolve complex issues related to desktop hardware, software, and peripherals. This role includes significant leadership responsibilities, including managing desktop projects and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • We act with urgency: Lead and manage a team of desktop support engineers, ensuring rapid and effective responses to technical challenges.
    • We behave like owners: Take ownership of projects that improve the end user experience, from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • We act with dynamic range: Develop and implement strategic plans for desktop infrastructure and user support, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • We push past possible: Design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge desktop infrastructure, exploring new technologies to enhance performance.
    • We pursue options in parallel: Provide technical support for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals, continuously evaluating multiple solutions to find the best fit.
    • We accept risk: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with a proactive and innovative mindset, embracing risk to achieve impactful solutions.
    • We digitize everywhere possible: Develop and maintain advanced desktop standards, procedures, and digital processes for seamless operations.
    • We prioritize the platform: Ensure that desktop security and compliance protocols support the overall digital platform and organizational integrity.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • We obsess over learning: Mentor desktop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
    • We remove viscosity: Collaborate efficiently with team leaders to ensure streamlined, multichannel support for end users.
    • We pivot fearlessly: Adapt quickly to new data and insights, ensuring that desktop solutions remain agile and effective.
    • We question convention: Challenge existing practices and standards to drive innovation in desktop infrastructure and support.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • We behave like owners: Oversee, guide, and support the team with new hire hardware deployments, PC refresh deployments, phones, and A/V meeting support as needed.
    • We act with urgency: Provide training and support to end-users promptly to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
    • We digitize everywhere possible: Use innovative methods and technologies to identify and solve problems related to the performance, reliability, and availability of systems.
    • We pursue options in parallel: Evaluate and recommend new desktop technologies and solutions to ensure continuous improvement and adaptability.
    • We prioritize the platform: Manage desktop inventory and asset tracking to support the broader IT infrastructure effectively.


Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in desktop engineering or related field.
  • Strong technical skills in desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.


Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with Windows and Mac desktop environments.
  • Experience with desktop imaging and deployment processes.
  • Experience with desktop security and compliance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Experience with cloud-based desktop solutions.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM).
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions.
